SRS Shorthorns Tops 2004 Oregon Trial

How much profit does your ranch need? Well, the answer is simple, and Waukaru bulls can help achieve that answer faster than anything on the market. The chart above displays our participation in 7 years of the IBEEF feeding study, sponsored by Indiana Beef Cattlemans Association and Purdue University Extension. The 82 steers that are labeled Waukaru are predominately steer calves sired by Waukaru bulls sold in previous "The Gathering" events, or from Waukaru directly and not considered worthy enough to remain an intact male. The steers were fed in northern Indiana and Iowa in a system that is considered the industry norm --- no special treatment.
Waukaru steers are impressive when one studies their carcass performance. Highest ADG, most marbling...but the biggest advantage is realized on patday. The Waukaru steers are the cheapest to feed, are worth more as feeders, and return more dollars per head than any other option.
Does Waukaru continue to retain ownership on feeder cattle with today's current market uncertainty?? You bet we do. We are involved in many studies across the globe to further prove and substantiate the cattle we produce. Currently we are testing cattle in Australia and New Zealand, as well as Kansas, North Dakota, and Indiana. We cannot afford not to with real dollar amounts such as these.
